This week we read chapter 6 and 7 in "The City of Ember". First they read the chapter (peer reading) then listen to it on audiobook. 
We have been working with adjectives and the different ways to use adjectives in our writing. 
In writing we talked about gathering information then sorting it into different topics. This is the way we encourage students to write stories. This helps them keep their thoughts organized.

We read about the amazing whale and did some questions on it.

We also read about birds with a sense of humor and did some questions with it too.

The class also is learning the difference between expository and narrative writing. 

We were introduced to Work on Writing in Daily 5.
